The space was originally built in 1903 by Carl Von Seutter of Carter Jewelers. The jewelry store had been around since the mid-1800’s and was moved to the Faulkner building in 1904. Twenty five years ago, Buddy Faulkner bought the historic building and at one time had plans to turn it into an apartment building.
After listening to locals’ suggestions to turn it into an event space, thankfully it was turned into the ultimate Southern wedding venue. Faulkner’s daughter, Sarah, played a huge role in turning the building into this amazing venue. Sarah’s vision for the Faulkner truly elevated it into what it is today. With rooftop views of the Jackson skyline, including the Old Capitol and the Pearl River Basin, the Faulkner Wedding Venue is like no other.
The venue’s contemporary, upscale design blends perfectly with classic architectural details. This combination creates a refined atmosphere for both grand celebrations and intimate gatherings. Without a doubt, each area caters to different wedding styles and guest counts. With this in mind, here are some of the beautiful spaces available:
The First
Charmingly dubbed “The First,” the first floor of the Faulkner Wedding Venue is a multi-use space you can rent for a variety of events. For example, you can host a bridal luncheon the week of your wedding on The First floor. Do you need an upscale and beautiful space for your rehearsal dinner? Employ a local chef to cater your rehearsal dinner on The First floor as well. Additionally, you can host up to 150 guests in a cocktail style celebration at your reception.
The First at the Faulkner has beautiful herringbone hardwood floors and natural light flowing through its large windows. Moreover, its white walls and recessed ceiling provides a blank canvas for you to decorate how you please. This space boasts 1600 square feet of beautiful design for your wedding, bridal luncheon, or reception! No matter your vision for your wedding, The First is an elegant and luxurious event space that has everything you need.
In addition to all of this, you have the option to reserve just the first floor or to pair it with another floor at The Faulkner. What’s more, this floor rental also includes tables and chairs for up to 150 guests. Equally important, you can bring in additional drapery or chandeliers to further customize the space.
The Fourth: The Bridal Suite & Groom’s Lounge
On the fourth floor, these beautifully designed suites offer luxurious spaces for the wedding party to relax. For that reason, they provide comfort and elegance as you prepare for your big moment. The fourth floor at the Faulkner Wedding Venue features two spaces for your bridal party to get ready. For the bride, The Parlor is a luxury space that includes floor to ceiling windows with velvet blue drapes. Also, the Parlor has a full length wall mirror with ample seating for hair and makeup. It can accommodate up to 6 bridesmaids at a time with its stylish blue velvet benches. An additional seating area in this room is great for lounging and relaxing leading up to the ceremony. Additionally, the Parlor has beautiful and unique lighting fixtures that make a great backdrop for bridal portraits and First Looks with family.
For the groom and groomsmen, the fourth floor also features The Front Room. The Front Room is a dedicated business rental space that also is decorated in a more masculine way. For the groomsmen, it’s another great space for them to relax and get ready for groomsmen photos and the ceremony. The guys can watch a game, catch up with each other and just enjoy each other’s company.
In between The Parlor and The Front Room is an additional seating area with floor to ceiling, beautifully decorated wallpaper. This offers another amazing space for getting ready photos for the day. As a bride, you can get into your dress & take pictures with the special people (such as a mom, aunt, grandmother or sister, etc) in this stylish room.
The Fifth
The fifth floor of the Faulkner Wedding Venue is an elegant ballroom featuring a 16′ ceiling. Natural light floods the room, creating a warm ambiance. Additionally, its open layout provides plenty of space for dining, dancing, and entertainment. It’s perfect for large weddings. The room can be transformed into both a ceremony or reception space. This floor of the Faulkner can host up to 225 guests in a reception-style layout. The amazing windows are 10 feet high! Additionally, if you’re using the ballroom for a reception, there is a vast array of orbs hanging from the ceiling. The orbs provide the perfect ambience for first dances between bride and grooms, as well as dancing to the DJ late into the night.
Depending on your vision of the space, you have the option to host a seated reception with long, rectangular tables. Working with your decorator and planner, you can have beautiful florals in your wedding colors and tapered candles adorning the tables. Additionally, chiavari chairs are included in your rental of the fifth floor. This floor also has a private prep kitchen for your caterer and private restrooms for your guests.
The Top
One of the things that makes The Faulkner wedding venue truly unique is the rooftop. Do you outdoor ceremonies? The rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views of the Jackson skyline. Many couples choose to have the rooftop set up for their ceremony. With this in mind, you can say your vows under the open sky with the Mississippi Capitol Building in the background. On the other hand, you have the option to host cocktail hour with a cityscape backdrop. The balcony is truly a completely customizable space. Couples love the versatility with how they can tailor this space to their unique vision.
As a photographer, sunsets at the top of the Faulkner wedding venue are my favorite! You will love taking bride & groom portraits (or any other portraits) with the most beautiful sunset in the background. Rooftop portraits are truly special and stand out as something different, yet amazing. The possibilities are endless with photo ops as well as customize the space for a cocktail reception. I’ve seen it decorated with sofas for a truly upscale wedding lounge for your guests. There aren’t many wedding venues in Mississippi with a rooftop as spectacular view as this one! In fact, there are very, very few!

During Monday through Thursday, the cost to rent is $2,000. On Fridays and Sundays, you can rent this floor for $2500.
For renting just the Top (Rooftop) and The Fifth (Ballroom), you can rent for $4,500 Monday through Thursday, or $5,000 Friday and Sunday. You can seat up to 150 for your ceremony and up to 225 for a strolling reception set up. For a full Saturday wedding experience, you can rent The First, The Fifth, and The Top of the Faulkner for $6800 which allows for up to 250 guests.

The staff at The Faulkner recommend the following caterers: Fresh Cut Catering and Table 100. For bar service, they recommend Jackson staples Char and The Iron Horse Grill.
Inclusions in Your Rental
Each rental includes 5 hours of event time, an assortment of round banquet tables with Chiavari chairs and white ceremony chairs. In addition to this, you also have event security, parking, and a venue manager on deck.
